Gentlemen,
It’s March 14! In eleven days, we’ll be dining together in the refurbished Clubhouse. Here are some dates to save.
Friday, March 25: Our first dinner at the Clubhouse of the Spring 2022 season.
Dinners will continue every Friday evening through May 13. Weather permitting, we will have a special ‘dinner under the tent’ on either May 6 or 13. More to come on that. Dinner at the Clubhouse on May 20 will be demand and capacity dependent.
Saturday, March 26: Our first Saturday breakfast and drawing for stream sections in the Clubhouse. Breakfast is served promptly at 8am. Drawing for sections is at 8:30. Breakfast is by reservation, just like dinner. Don’t forget to sign up for breakfast if you’re coming out to fish on Saturday.
Sunday, May 22 at noon: THE SHAD BAKE! Save the date. Invite friends and family. Notice that we’re holding it a week later than the traditional ‘Sunday after Mother’s Day.’ Mom won’t mind. It gives us an extra week of fishing, one more Friday dinner, and we wrap up the spring calendar before Memorial Day.
In twelve days, we will be fishing. Lines will be tight and the trout will be jumping! How wonderful is that?
The 2022 Fish Letter is attached along with a blank spreadsheet for recording your catch, preliminary to entering it into the fish book. We have become lax on keeping count of fish caught, taken, and released. It is a shared responsibility and one that we need to uphold.
We’ve turned around the hunting and we’ve turned around the hospitality. The fishing experience is the next target for improvement. If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. Complete and accurate records of fishing success will help us identify areas and ways of improving the fishing experience. Keep your fish log spreadsheet up to date and make sure the information gets transferred to the fish book in the Clubhouse.
Tight lines!
Mike
